?
The Rail Safety Recruitment Board (RSRB) is a specialised recruitment-support, talent-development and workforce-facilitation initiative of the All India Rail Safety Council (AIRSC). It has been established to respond to the growing requirement for skilled, technically competent, professionally responsible and safety-conscious personnel across the railway, metro rail, transportation, manufacturing, infrastructure, logistics and allied industrial sectors.
RSRB has been envisioned as an integrated platform connecting qualified candidates, experienced professionals, employers, infrastructure organisations, engineering companies, consultants and project authorities within a structured workforce ecosystem. Through candidate sourcing, preliminary screening, competency mapping, professional assessment, training coordination and employment facilitation, RSRB seeks to support organisations in identifying personnel whose qualifications, experience and professional capabilities correspond with defined project and operational requirements.
The Board recognises that human capital is one of the most important foundations of a safe, reliable and efficient transportation system. Modern railway and metro projects require professionals who possess not only technical qualifications but also safety awareness, workplace discipline, adaptability, ethical responsibility, communication ability and an understanding of increasingly digital and technology-driven operating environments.
RSRB therefore seeks to function as more than a conventional recruitment platform. Its wider purpose is to create a responsible connection between education, skills, professional competence, safety culture and employment opportunity. By bringing employers, candidates, training institutions and subject-matter professionals together, RSRB aims to support the development of a dependable and future-ready workforce for India’s expanding transportation and infrastructure sectors.

The Board is committed to promoting merit, equal opportunity, technical competence, safety awareness, ethical recruitment and responsible candidate engagement. It also seeks to encourage lifelong learning, reskilling and upskilling so that professionals can adapt to new technologies, systems, standards and workplace expectations.
Our Purpose
India’s railway and metro sectors are undergoing significant expansion and technological transformation. The development of high-speed rail corridors, dedicated freight corridors, modern stations, metro networks, rolling-stock manufacturing, electrification, advanced signalling, intelligent asset management, digital operations and smart transportation infrastructure is generating demand for a diverse range of skilled professionals.
At the same time, employers frequently face challenges in locating candidates with the required combination of qualifications, experience, practical competence, safety awareness and project readiness. Candidates may also find it difficult to identify credible opportunities, understand changing skill requirements or connect their education with suitable professional pathways.
RSRB seeks to address these challenges by functioning as a professional bridge between employers and talent. Its purpose is to facilitate responsible recruitment, improve workforce accessibility, support skill alignment and encourage the development of candidates who are better prepared for contemporary industrial and transportation environments.

This may include ITI and diploma-qualified personnel, fresh graduates, engineers, technicians, supervisors, safety professionals, project managers, administrative personnel, senior specialists, consultants and retired railway or metro professionals seeking suitable professional engagement.
For employers, RSRB seeks to provide access to a broad talent network across railway, metro, transportation, engineering, manufacturing, infrastructure, logistics, safety, security and disaster-management disciplines. Organisations may approach RSRB for assistance with candidate sourcing, profile matching, preliminary screening, workforce mobilisation and recruitment-process support, subject to agreed requirements and applicable laws.
This integrated approach is intended to create a more organised relationship among education providers, training institutions, professionals, project organisations and employers while preserving the independence and recruitment authority of each participating employer.
Principal Recruitment Verticals
RSRB’s workforce-support framework is organised around three principal recruitment verticals: campus and early-career opportunities, infrastructure-project recruitment, and the professional redeployment of senior or retired experts.
The Campus and Early-Career Recruitment Vertical is intended to connect eligible students, apprentices, diploma holders, graduates and entry-level professionals with suitable career opportunities. RSRB may work with educational institutions, training organisations and employers to facilitate campus engagement, candidate orientation, preliminary assessments, career-awareness programmes and early-career recruitment support.
The Infrastructure-Project Recruitment Vertical focuses on the workforce requirements of railway, metro, manufacturing, construction, operations, maintenance and large-scale infrastructure projects. This may include technical personnel, engineers, supervisors, safety officers, quality professionals, project coordinators, contract personnel and other project-specific talent.
The Senior and Retired Professionals Vertical seeks to preserve and utilise valuable institutional knowledge by facilitating suitable professional opportunities for experienced railway, metro, engineering, safety and management specialists. Depending upon employer requirements, such professionals may be considered for advisory, consultancy, training, inspection, quality-assurance, research, project-support or specialised technical assignments.
Talent Categories
RSRB proposes to maintain a diverse professional network covering multiple areas of competence. The talent pool may include skilled and semi-skilled workers; ITI and diploma-qualified technical personnel; fresh graduates and entry-level professionals; civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics, signalling and telecommunications engineers; track, rolling-stock and maintenance specialists; railway operations personnel; safety, fire, security and disaster-management professionals; quality-assurance and inspection personnel; project-planning and project-management professionals; manufacturing and supply-chain personnel; and administrative, commercial and institutional-support staff.
The network may also include professionals in digital technology, artificial intelligence, data analytics, cybersecurity, communications, intelligent transportation systems, automation, predictive maintenance, asset management, environmental sustainability and other emerging areas relevant to future railway and metro systems.
Senior managers, consultants, researchers, trainers, subject-matter experts and retired railway or metro professionals may also participate where their knowledge and experience correspond with defined organisational or project requirements.
Services for Employers
For employers, RSRB seeks to function as a professional talent-access and recruitment-support platform. Services may include requirement analysis, talent sourcing, candidate database searches, profile matching, preliminary screening, qualification review, competency mapping and coordination of technical or professional assessments.
Depending upon the nature and scale of an assignment, RSRB may support campus recruitment, bulk hiring, project-based workforce mobilisation, contractual recruitment, permanent hiring, leadership searches and the engagement of experienced consultants or retired professionals.
Each recruitment assignment may be customised according to the employer’s technical requirements, project location, workforce volume, experience criteria, engagement conditions, safety expectations and delivery schedule. Final eligibility standards, examinations, interviews, medical requirements, background verification, remuneration, appointment terms and selection decisions remain exclusively with the respective employer unless otherwise stated in an authorised written agreement.
RSRB seeks to provide employers with a professional, responsive and ethically managed recruitment-support experience. The objective is to help organisations reduce recruitment complexity while improving access to relevant and potentially suitable talent.
Services for Candidates
For candidates, RSRB aims to provide a credible platform through which qualifications, experience, professional interests and career preferences may be presented to relevant employers, subject to vacancy availability and applicable selection requirements.
Candidates may register their profiles for consideration against suitable opportunities, receive information about notified requirements and participate in preliminary screening, assessment, orientation or training activities where applicable.
RSRB may also support candidates through career-awareness sessions, employability guidance, competency identification, professional-development information and referrals to appropriate training programmes. Such services are intended to strengthen workplace readiness and help candidates understand the knowledge, skills and conduct expected in railway, metro, transportation and infrastructure environments.
Registration with RSRB, completion of a training programme or inclusion within a talent database does not guarantee employment, selection, interview, placement, promotion or appointment. Every opportunity remains subject to the concerned employer’s requirements and independent selection process.
Recruitment Methodology
RSRB seeks to follow a structured and professionally managed recruitment-support methodology. An assignment may begin with an assessment of the employer’s workforce requirement, including job responsibilities, technical competencies, qualifications, experience, project duration, location and safety-related expectations.
Relevant profiles may then be sourced from RSRB’s talent network, participating institutions, professional outreach programmes and authorised recruitment channels. Candidates may undergo preliminary profile verification, qualification review, experience assessment and competency mapping before suitable profiles are presented to the employer.
Where requested, RSRB may coordinate technical evaluations, aptitude assessments, professional interviews, safety-awareness assessments or document-verification support. The final selection decision will rest with the authorised employer.
Throughout the process, RSRB seeks to promote fairness, confidentiality, equal opportunity, professional integrity and responsible handling of candidate information in accordance with applicable requirements.
Safety-Oriented Candidate Profiling
Railway and metro organisations operate within safety-critical environments. Technical knowledge alone may not be sufficient for effective workplace performance. Professionals must also demonstrate discipline, situational awareness, communication ability, adherence to procedures, respect for authority, ethical behaviour and a commitment to protecting human life and public assets.
RSRB therefore seeks to encourage safety-oriented candidate profiling. Depending upon the role, this may include consideration of safety awareness, behavioural competence, professional attitude, teamwork, communication, risk perception and readiness to operate within regulated or high-responsibility environments.
Such profiling is intended to support—not replace—the employer’s formal recruitment, technical assessment, medical evaluation, background verification or statutory compliance processes.
Education, Training and Employment Linkage
One of RSRB’s distinguishing features is its proposed connection with the broader education, research and professional-development ecosystem of AIRSC.
The AIRSC Academy of Safety and Disaster Management (AASDM) may support relevant capacity-building initiatives through professional education, certification, short-term training, safety-awareness programmes and continuing professional development.
The proposed University of Rail Technology and Management initiative, subject to all required statutory approvals, is envisioned as a future academic and research platform for specialised education in railway technology, safety, transportation management, disaster resilience, digital systems and related disciplines.
This institutional linkage is intended to encourage a stronger relationship between education and workplace readiness. Where skill gaps are identified, candidates may be guided towards relevant training or professional-development opportunities. Participation in such programmes, however, will not constitute an assurance of recruitment or employment.
Campus and Early-Career Engagement
RSRB seeks to build constructive relationships with universities, colleges, polytechnics, ITIs, training institutions and professional academies for career awareness and early-talent engagement.
Campus initiatives may include career-orientation sessions, industry-awareness programmes, employability workshops, safety-awareness training, candidate-registration drives, preliminary assessments and interaction with participating employers.
The objective is to help students understand emerging career pathways, develop appropriate professional skills and approach employment opportunities with realistic expectations and responsible conduct.
Redeployment of Experienced and Retired Professionals
The railway and metro sectors possess a substantial body of institutional knowledge developed through decades of operational, engineering, managerial and safety experience. RSRB recognises the value of preserving this expertise and making it available to future projects where appropriate.
Experienced and retired professionals may be considered for advisory services, training, mentoring, inspections, audits, research, documentation, project monitoring, quality assurance, safety studies and other specialised assignments.
This initiative can help organisations access valuable expertise while enabling experienced professionals to continue contributing to industry development, capacity building and knowledge transfer.
Workforce Support for Major Projects
Large railway, metro, manufacturing and infrastructure projects often require significant numbers of personnel within defined timelines. RSRB seeks to support such requirements through structured talent mobilisation, location-based candidate sourcing, discipline-specific databases and coordinated recruitment assistance.
Depending upon project requirements, workforce support may cover engineering, construction, operations, maintenance, safety, quality, security, administration, logistics and project-management functions.
RSRB’s objective is to support efficient workforce access without compromising professional standards, safety expectations, candidate rights or the employer’s independent authority over final recruitment.
Commitment to Quality, Merit and Integrity
RSRB is committed to encouraging a recruitment environment founded on merit, competence, equal opportunity, transparency and professional ethics.
Candidates should be assessed on the basis of relevant qualifications, experience, demonstrated competence and suitability for the notified role. Employers and candidates are expected to provide accurate information, maintain confidentiality and avoid misrepresentation, influence, unfair means or unauthorised financial arrangements.
RSRB does not support discrimination, fraudulent recruitment, false employment promises, unauthorised fee collection or misuse of institutional names and logos. Any person or agency falsely claiming to guarantee selection or appointment should be reported immediately through the official communication channels published by RSRB or AIRSC.
Technology-Enabled Recruitment
RSRB seeks to progressively adopt digital systems for candidate registration, vacancy communication, profile management, document submission, assessment coordination, employer engagement and recruitment-process monitoring.
Technology may help improve accessibility, process efficiency, communication and data-based workforce planning. Digital tools may also support candidate matching, competency classification and identification of emerging skill requirements.
The use of technology will be guided by principles of fairness, appropriate human oversight, privacy, information security and responsible data management.
Contribution to National Development
RSRB’s workforce-development mission is aligned, where genuinely applicable, with broader national aspirations such as Viksit Bharat 2047, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India, Digital India and Skill India.
By promoting skilled manpower, indigenous professional capacity, industry-relevant training, technology awareness and employment facilitation, RSRB seeks to contribute to the human-resource foundation required for India’s continuing infrastructure transformation.
This alignment reflects RSRB’s developmental objectives and does not imply government affiliation, official sponsorship or endorsement unless specifically authorised.
Why Partner with RSRB?
RSRB offers employers a sector-focused platform supported by AIRSC’s wider interest in railway safety, education, research and professional development. Its approach combines recruitment support with an appreciation of safety-critical operations, technical competence and workforce readiness.
The Board seeks to understand each organisation’s operational, technical and administrative requirements before developing a suitable recruitment-support strategy. This may enable a more relevant, timely and coordinated response to project-specific workforce needs.
