Greetings from the All India Rail Safety Council

Railway Vision 2047 represents a national commitment to build an Indian railway ecosystem that is safer, smarter, greener, more resilient and globally respected. As India advances towards the centenary of Independence, railway transformation must be measured not only by speed, capacity and infrastructure, but also by the protection of every life, the security of every journey and the confidence of every passenger. Safety must remain the foundation of progress—supported by modern engineering, intelligent signalling, predictive maintenance, artificial intelligence, digital innovation, cybersecurity, climate-resilient infrastructure and a deeply embedded culture of professional responsibility.

The All India Rail Safety Council’s Railway Vision 2047 Mission seeks to unite government institutions, railway and metro organisations, industry, academia, researchers, professionals, students and citizens behind one shared national objective: safer tracks, secure journeys and sustainable mobility for all. The Mission promotes indigenous innovation, workforce competence, research excellence, public awareness, responsible leadership and institutional collaboration in alignment with Viksit Bharat 2047, Atmanirbhar Bharat, Digital India, Make in India and India’s sustainable-development goals.

Our vision is to help shape a future-ready railway system where technology anticipates risk, infrastructure withstands emerging challenges, professionals lead with competence and integrity, and safety becomes a collective national responsibility extending far beyond regulatory compliance. By connecting progress, protecting lives and strengthening the nation, Indian Railways can continue to serve as the lifeline of India and a powerful driver of inclusive economic growth, social unity and national development.
