The AIRSC Academy of Safety and Disaster Management (AASDM) is the specialised academic, professional-development, training and research institution of the All India Rail Safety Council (AIRSC). The proposed MBA in Rail Entrepreneurship and Governance seeks to prepare future leaders for responsibilities relating to railway enterprises, public-private collaboration, infrastructure projects, policy development, strategic governance, innovation, business planning and institutional management.

The proposed MBA in Rail Transport Economics focuses on transport economics, railway finance, logistics, freight systems, infrastructure investment, demand analysis, project evaluation, sustainable mobility and the economic dimensions of national transportation development.

Bachelor’s Degree Programme

The proposed B.Tech in Safety Engineering is envisioned as a multidisciplinary programme covering industrial and railway safety, fire-protection systems, occupational health, process safety, risk assessment, environmental protection, emergency management and modern safety technologies. The programme seeks to prepare technically competent professionals capable of supporting safety performance across transportation, manufacturing, construction, energy and infrastructure sectors.

Diploma in Rail Safety Management

The Diploma in Rail Safety Management is designed for learners seeking foundational and specialised knowledge of railway operations, track safety, passenger safety, accident prevention, hazard identification, risk assessment, emergency preparedness and operational excellence.

The programme seeks to build a structured understanding of railway-safety principles while developing the professional discipline and practical awareness required for safety-support roles within railway, metro and associated infrastructure environments.

Postgraduate Diploma Programmes

AASDM’s proposed postgraduate diploma portfolio includes the PG Diploma in Rail Safety Management, PG Diploma in Rail Marketing and Branding, PG Diploma in Industrial Safety Management and PG Diploma in Disaster Management.

Professional Certificate Programmes

The Certificate in Metro Rail Safety and Risk Management focuses on operational safety, passenger protection, risk assessment, emergency planning and safety-management practices in metro-rail environments.

The Certificate in Metro Rail Technology introduces learners to the systems, technologies, operational principles and infrastructure associated with contemporary urban rail networks.

The Certificate in Railway Signalling and Telecommunication Technologies provides an overview of signalling principles, railway telecommunications, operational communications and the role of modern technologies in maintaining safe and efficient train movements.

The Certificate in Disaster Management develops knowledge of disaster-risk reduction, preparedness, emergency coordination, response planning, community resilience and recovery management.

The Certificate in Fire and Safety Management covers fire prevention, fire-protection systems, workplace hazards, emergency procedures, occupational-safety practices and institutional safety responsibilities.

Internationally Benchmarked Professional Courses

AASDM also seeks to offer specialised short-term and executive-development courses based on internationally recognised safety, reliability and quality-management frameworks.

Training in Functional Safety under IEC 61508 introduces participants to safety-lifecycle principles applicable to electrical, electronic and programmable electronic safety-related systems. It supports an understanding of hazard analysis, safety-integrity requirements, lifecycle governance, verification and validation.

Professional training relating to the EN 5012x railway standards addresses principles connected with reliability, availability, maintainability and safety—commonly known as RAMS—along with system assurance, railway software, safety cases and lifecycle-based safety management.

The IRIS/ISO 22163 Rail Quality Management programme is intended to strengthen awareness of quality-management practices within the international railway industry, including process performance, supply-chain excellence, risk-based thinking, product quality and continual improvement.

The Behaviour-Based Safety programme focuses on the human and organisational dimensions of accident prevention. It encourages proactive observation, constructive feedback, employee engagement, safety leadership and the development of positive workplace behaviour.
